Hand poured in support of Team Ives and St. Jude's Hospital, Sydney's Sunshine is a Charity Soap Bar made to honor Sydney Ives and this September's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
In 2008, Sydney Ives was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. She was 9 years old at the time. After 18 months of wonderful care and treatment at St. Jude, Sydney passed away on November 9, 2009...but not before touching countless hearts and lives.
Today, her parents Dean and Tasha Ives sit on several advisory councils at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, including Bereaved Parent Educators, Bereaved Parent Advisors, Quality of Life Steering Council members and Bereaved Parent Mentors. They still believe in the important work being done there. They are living proof that although 80% of the children treated at St. Jude receive a cure, the 20% who don't still matter.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and in honor of that, we are helping Dean and Tasha (who are both a part of the Fleet Feet Nashville family) raise funds in Sydney's memory through their St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend fundraising efforts.
Sydney loved Jesus...and was full of His light and joy. She was hilarious and beautiful, and she almost always had a smile on her face.
The "Sydney's Sunshine" bar soap was created to reflect that warmth, light and joy. Tasha has helped us create just the right clean, fresh scent, made up of Gain Fresh and Clean essential oils, that made her feel like she was getting a hug from Syd.
Every bar of soap you purchase will help Sydney's beautiful and bright legacy RUN on.
Over the month of September, we will collect $5 for each bar sold and honor Team Ives with a donation towards their fundraising goal for St. Jude's Hospital on September 30th from 6-8pm.
